Directions: From Scenic Hill (#127 on the Map), Turn Right on FM 332.  Head 2 miles southwest on 332 until you hit FM 2502.  Turn a Right on FM 2502.   Drive 10 miles until FM 2502  “T”s into Hwy 290.  Drive 1.1 miles and take a slight left onto TX-237.  Drive 7.4 miles into Round Top.  Turn Left on 1st Street/Mill St (Driving around the square).

Go 1 block to the Southwest corner of the Square.  Bybee Square is immediately Southwest.  Henkel Square is immediately southeast.

Bybee Square, just southwest of the town square, has a large concentration of shops and art galleries.  We recommend the wine shop at the front side of the Stone Cellar.

To the south of the town square is Henkel Square. This museum is an acreage of great restored original buildings from the 1800’s.

Festival Hill at Round Top (#14 on the Map) is known for its great musical performances year round.  Even if timing doesn’t allow you to partake, the grand, whimsical architecture and a pastoral setting make this the perfect setting to just stroll around and explore.

Directions from Round Top Square:  Go back to TX-237, and take a right, heading Northeast.  Drive 0.9 miles.   Turn Left at Jaster Rd.  Festival Hill is to the Left.

OUR FAVORITE HANGOUT

The Stone Cellar in Bybee Square offers a great patio, and fine selection of beers and wines.  On weekend nights, there are often individual musicians performing in the early evening, and a live band performing later on.  The Stone Cellar serves Pizza, salads and other food

OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT

The Oaks, Hwy 237, southwest of Warrenton.  (Open Thurs – Sun).  This venue offers great reasonably-priced food and a deck with beautiful views.

Directions: Go back to TX-237, and take a left, heading Southwest. Drive 5.5 miles.  The Oaks is to the Left.  It will be on the other side of Warrenton.

Variety of Round Top Shops               Bybee Square, behind the Stone Cellar

Henkel Square                                        Festival Hill

Stone Cellar Sign, and great outdoor patio.

Covered patio of “The Oaks” at Dusk.   A great view from the patio.

OTHER EATING OPTIONS

There are several other eating options near and around the Round Top Square, including Dempsey’s, Scotty and Friends, and Royer’s.

We recommend:

Scotty and Friends

Has a great deck under a huge oak, and one of the prettiest views in the tri-county area.  Fair Warning: They do not always have the deck open.  Call (979) 249-5512 for more information.

Directions: (From the Stone Cellar) Go back up to TX-237, and take a left, heading Southwest. Drive 2 blocks. Scotty and Friends is to the left.  Look for the deck under the huge oak tree.
