on the Map). Located behind Westwood Cinema 6, just west of Brenham on 290 ( 2100 Hwy 290, West) Playing together
can add a lot to a vacation, and this is a great way to get in some healthy
horsing around. Horseshoe Junction

LUNCH: Our favorite downtown restaurant is Funky Art Café (#44 on the Map), 202 W. Commerce (with an entrance off of W. Alamo St.), Downtown Brenham. Food is reasonably priced, and offerings range from the simple to the sophisticated. This building also has a nice coffee shop and boutique mixed in. Another good lunch choice is Must Be Heaven (#49 on the Map) , 107 W. Alamo, Downtown Brenham. This has an ice cream parlor featuring Bluebell Ice Cream (what else?) and reasonably priced sandwiches, soups, salads, quiches and deserts. Yet another good
lunch choice, especially if you’d like a glass of wine with lunch is, Rendez
Vous Wine Bar and Restaurant. 106 E.
Alamo, Downtown. This features light
lunch fare, also reasonably priced. |
Lunch in Downtown Brenham
Funky Art Café Sign, and inside, getting some coffee at the “Wired and Inspired” Coffee Bar DIRECTIONS (From Horseshoe Junction to Downtown Brenham): Head back East on 290. This quickly turns into W. Main St, which quickly turns into W. Alamo St. This will take you directly to Downtown. There is an entrance to Funky Art Café on the South side of W. Alamo right after Austin St. “Must Be Heaven” is just down the street on W. Alamo, and the “Rendez Vous” wine bar and restaurant is just down the street from “Must Be Heaven”. All make fine lunch choices.

SHOPPING DOWNTOWN: Downtown Brenham is loaded with great little antique stores and Boutiques. It’s definitely worth a spin around the square, and up and down W. Alamo Street, and W. Commerce Street (1 block south). There are plenty of shops within a 4 block radius to make this an entertaining post-lunch stroll. |
